“What the books taught me, I’ve practised. What they didn’t teach me, I’ve taught myself. I’ve gone into the forest and wrestled with the lion. I didn’t get this far by teaching one thing and doing another.”

— I, Lalla. The Poems of Lal Ded (translated)

General Practice - Skin Cancer Medicine & Surgery

After graduating from Monash University in 2012, I completed my internship & residency at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. My fierce determination in becoming an orthopaedic surgeon led me to take up a registrar position at Monash Health in 2016 whilst simultaneously publishing & presenting my masters research on reconstructive hip options for children and adolescents with cerebral palsy at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

When the world that I knew flipped upside down in 2019, I was slowly drawn towards General Practice. It is an area of medicine that has the greatest capacity for creating positive change in people’s wellbeing. I am moved by the sincere depth and intimacy that I find within each patient-doctor relationship.

My interests within General Practice have slowly gravitated towards Skin Cancer Medicine & Surgery since 2023. Happily, it has allowed me to marry my surgical skills with my ever-growing clinical skin expertise. I am an accredited Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA) Skin Cancer Doctor and am pursuing my fellowship (the highest skill recognition within a specialty) with the SCCA College.

Even though orthopaedic surgery is a part of my past, I still maintain my skills & knowledge through collaborative care alongside orthopaedic surgeons at John Flynn Hospital & Tweed Valley Hospital, and will still offer a limited amount of Sports Medicine consults alongside ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injections.

My current specialties include:

  • Holistic care offering both Eastern & Western perspectives

  • Skin Cancer Medicine & Surgery

  • Sports Medicine

Services offered:

  • Skin cancer treatments including: skin checks, field treatments, skin excisions, flaps & grafts

  • Administration of clinical & cosmetic botox

  • Ultrasound guided musculoskeletal corticosteroid & platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections (must be referred by a doctor or allied health professional)

Therapy Dog Service:

My beautiful pup, Hazel, is an accredited therapy dog after passing her obedience & temperament assessments with Therapy Dogs Australia. She attends clinic with me on Tuesdays ± Thursdays to provide animal assisted therapy for enhanced patient centred care.
